I’m old school and when I did follow the then WWF it was wrestlers/entertainers like Jake the Snake Roberts, The Iron Sheik and Junk Yard Dog who put on the show. If you’re really hardcore you’ll remember Stampede Wrestling in its glory days. Anyways, that’s another story. ILWU Supports Rio Tinto Miners
On Friday April 16, International Longshore & Warehouse Union members in Vancouver, BC, Canada gathered on the sidewalks in front of the British Consulate in support of the miners of the Rio Tinto borax mine in Boron, California.
Rio Tinto, the second largest mining company in the world, has locked out nearly 600 of its workers since January 31, 2010 from the I.L.W.U. Local 30 after trying to force a contract ultimatum onto its workers.
I.L.W.U. members in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Boston and Vancouver united as one to let the public know of Rio Tintos’ long and disgusting history with respect to their treatment of workers, communities and the environment in North America and around the world.
The Fix
Marc Nault has been homeless in Calgary’s downtown core for over 15 years. The Ontario native lives among a cardboard box underneath a 9th Ave. overpass he calls “Freedom Street.” Nault like a portion of homeless in Calgary is addicted to crack cocaine. His day begins and ends on a high note. He gets by collecting bottles, pan handling and seeking out anything of calue for his next fix. Her are photos from a day in the life of Marc Nault.
Mother’s Day
As the title suggests. This piece I did the day I got my new Canon 5D Mark II HDSLR camera. No fancy tripod, mono pod, gorilla arms, or audio equipment used, very loose and raw but I think for a first time, it suits the piece. I had no idea what I would do with it at the time, but knew that in someway it would be for my mom. Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

24 Hours
It’s been 16 hours since my last meal and my feet are cold. It’s February, the air is crisp and I smell like I’ve been camping. I slept for maybe 20 minutes last night in a wooded area along the Red Deer River. My bed is made of forest and tarp wrapped around four spruce trees. In a two metre by two metre space a fire pit rests and around the pit lays Irish, Frodo and Horace, three homeless men I chose to spend 24 hours with.

Street performers from around the world gather every year during the summer months to showcase their talents at street festivals like this one called Centrefest in Red Deer, Alberta.
Roller Derby
The Red Deer Roller Derby Association Red Deer Belladonnas hosted their first annual Canadian Roller Derby Bootcamp on the weekend at Westerner Park. One hundred and fifty skaters from across Canada took part in the bootcamp. Roller derby is a contact sport in which takes place on an oval track. Each game consists of two 30-minute or three 20-minute periods. At the end of each jam, players re-form the pack and continue play.

Haircut
I sequenced over 2,000 images to make this time-lapse of sorts. More like an experiment that I wanted to try. It was tedious to sync up the clips but I did what I set out to do so I’m happy with that. I have other ideas that I want to try, but for a later time.
